Telephone

  • Zoom Phone at U-M
Zoom Phone is a downloadable softphone application that allows users to make and receive phone calls via the internet on mobile devices, laptops, and desktops.
  • Voice Over IP (VoIP) Telephone
We support over 9,000 Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephones on all three campuses, including desk phones, cordless sets, soft clients on computers and other devices.
    • Softphones
A softphone can run on a desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone, allowing you to use the campus data network to make calls.
  • Traditional Telephone
We support traditional faculty & staff telephones providing high quality connections for teaching, learning, research, and work.
  • Voicemail
We provide Exchange voicemail to Ann Arbor and Flint campus faculty and staff. Dearborn and Flint use Cisco Unity voicemail.
  • Videoconferencing
We provide and support several videoconferencing options for campus.
  • IP Fax
IP Fax Service is a web-based solution created by iFax Solutions that eliminates the need for a fax machine to send and receive faxes.
  • Cellular on Campus
Each cellular carrier owns, manages, and maintains their own networks. ITS has no ability to provide or improve cellular coverage directly, but we maintain cellular relations, encourage vendors to improve campus coverage whenever possible, and advertise new features like WiFi Calling for places where cellular coverage is inadequate.
  • Contact Centers
We support over 45 university contact centers employing over 500 agents. ITS assists these centers with their main numbers, menu prompts, off-hour messaging, hold settings, queue messaging, and other services.
